The repertoire spans five decades of thumping grooves; 70s funk and disco thru 80s/90s rock/pop to modern R&B neo-classics.
The band is based around Brussels, Belgium.

Kim Poelmans / Tina Bride
Vocals
Kim jumps onto the stage full of energy, knows very well what she wants and goes for it.
This talented lady from Sint-Truiden went through life in the early 2000s as Tina Bride, as whom she managed to score many ultra-top hits. After a 20-year break, she is back with a vengeance, saving her best for Hot Mojito. Join Kim as she takes you on a journey through hits from the past and present.
Kim: I ran a dance school for 14 years, so expect a heady dose of infectious dance moves. That's just part of it, let's sing and dance together.
Frédéric Godecharle
Vocals
In the early 2000s, Frédéric was the front singer of the pop sensation VandaVanda. This group was very popular at the time with the No. 1 hit “Sunshine After The Rain”. VandaVanda emerged from the TV program “Popstars”, which was the very first Belgian talent show on television.
Frédéric will enchant you with his diverse range of music genres, while infectiously projecting his enthusiasm from centre stage.
Fred: I only go home satisfied when the audience has enjoyed themselves: we are a party band so we are going for a big, spectacular show. Nothing is more rewarding than sharing passion with an audience and seeing all those happy faces.
Martijn Verdam
Guitar
Martijn is Hot Mojito’s guitar player. Born in Holland, he began his musical career playing in various rock bands in his hometown of Deventer. While in Brussels he discovered his funky side and became passionate about making every song just that bit more danceable. When not hitting the strings, he plays his synth, funking up even modern club music.There is no such thing as too funky.
Derek Upton
Bass
Derek is Hot Mojito's bassman. Originating in the badlands of Teesside, England, he first showcased across the cafes, pubs and clubs of the North London acid jazz scene before moving to Belgium.After a short break, the bass love returned. With an insatiable appetite for low-down heavy grooves, he brings a rock-steady funk beat to the band.a smiling face ... a thumping bass ... for a loving race
Gustavo Lopez
Keyboards
Gustavo, from Toluca city, Mexico, started playing organ at eight years old. He was not a great student, but prefered to play along, by ear, to his brother's songs. Thanks to this Gustavo began to love music in a unique way, a way to paint in life with sounds, a universal language which takes you to the feeling of the composer.Music making is improvised on the spot - all coming as a painting in a canvas of sounds.
Joris Marien
Drums
Joris is the backbone of Hot Mojito. He is a Flemish drummer from Mechelen, and after several rock projects he is now dedicated to the groove of funk and R&B, Joris brings the vital high-powered drive to the band.
Niels Smeets
Saxophone
Niels has played sax since he was a child. He is a classically trained musician at the Leuven Conservatorium before specialising in jazz at Aarschot's music academy. When not blowing for Hot Mojito, Niels plays the soprano, alto, tenor and baritone sax for three established wind orchestras and is involved in many other musical projects.
JM Ganhy
Trumpet
JM is Hot Mojito’s trumpet player. He started playing piano at the age of six, but by the age of eight he discovered his great passion: the trumpet. Over the intervening years, he has played in many cover bands and is still active in the big-band scene with a 'schlagerorchestra' playing popular Dutch music.
